SUNDAY | Having a few free hours to spare, J and I decided to head out Deeside way for a long ish walk (10km). We had originally planned to walk around Loch Muick but looking at the weather report this morning, we chose somewhere slightly closer to home and thankfully the weather was great!
Just off the road from Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, you will find Glen Tanar Estate. There are a number of routes but one noticeably longer which we took!
The best bit? It's pretty and peaceful (you'll be lucky to see many walkers) + you get some fresh air whilst doing some exercise
There's a viewpoint and plenty of places to stop for a bite to eat or to take a few photos
On our way home, we popped into The Black Faced Sheep (a local cafe + small interior shop in one) as recommended by my lovely friend Laura. It had been years since I had visited and since J had never been, it was an easy choice! Two spicy sweet potato soups later, we headed home.
Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend x
p.s i'm always looking for suggestions of places to go so please feel free to drop me a message
